Ma démarche
C’est dans la contemplation de mon environnement que je trouve l’inspiration.
Quel que soit mon propos, l’atmosphère demeure une constante dans la conception de mes œuvres. Par un habile mélange de couleurs, je parviens à créer des atmosphères sensibles qui touchent l’émotion. Semblable à de petites histoires, elles tentent de communiquer ma vision du monde.
Mon univers pictural est dominé par l’immensité du territoire et de ses éléments conflictuels. À travers ces espaces, je parle de la place qu’on occupe dans ce monde. L’actualité mondiale, les changements climatiques, les guerres, les injustices, ma vie également, laissent des traces indélébiles dans mon esprit. Dans ma production, les territoires imaginaires se superposent à ceux réels créant ainsi plusieurs possibles. Il s’y dégage un mélange d’immobilité, de mystère et de silence.
Mon travail est principalement et profondément instinctif, intuitif et non conformiste. À l’atelier, je peins à l’huile ou à l’acrylique, en ajoutant à l’occasion pastel, crayon… ou bien tout ce qui me tombe dans les mains. Puis une première composition émerge, suivie d’un travail de reconstruction.
Ce qui m’intéresse, ce sont les rapports de force entre les teintes. Je recherche constamment à produire une étincelle, généralement en insérant un élément de couleur saturée dans un univers monochrome. Au hasard des jours, des promenades, mon œil capte de façon insolite formes, lignes, couleurs saturées et vibrations dans l’environnement qui m’entoure et les enregistre dans mon subconscient. Une fois devant la toile, ces éléments rejaillissent, se révèlent et forment mon langage pictural.
Il m’est essentiel que mes tableaux projettent une certaine dualité, qu’ils soient énigmatiques, ouverts à plusieurs lectures. Au spectateur d’y trouver sa propre résonnance, sa signification, son plaisir. Mon propos répond avant tout à une nécessité de créer, de partager mes pensées, et cela, indépendamment des modes.
L’œuvre, comme tout ce qui est vital, doit pouvoir évoluer.

Statement
Whatever I wish to express, atmosphere is a constant in the conception of my works. With an agile mix of colours, I can create rich and nuances landscapes that weave through emotions as little stories trying to convey my view of the world.
I enjoy creating dramatic ambiences in which imaginary places and the real world merge, giving rise to different possibilities. In them, I highlight, through their eye-catching aesthetic, certain urban details lost in these vast spaces. Out of them arises a mixture of immobility, mystery and silence.
It is in contemplating my surroundings that I find inspiration. Through the happenstance of strolling about, my eye catches forms, lines, saturated colours and the vibrations around me, recording them in me.
When I am in front of the canvas these elements rear up again, revealing themselves and in this way forming the basis of my own aesthetic. To this is added the influence of the current state of the world, on which the editorial thread of my work draws. Through this artistic language, I communicate my perception of the world today.
I express my emotions through the composition and, as a result, initiate a dialogue with the other. In my pictorial world there is no boundary between figuration and abstraction. They penetrate one another. My visual language is primarily and profoundly instinctive, intuitive and non-conformist. The essential thing is that my paintings project duality, that they be enigmatic and open to various readings.
In the studio, listening to music which creates a protective bubble around me, I choose the format and colours I wish to work with. Oil, acrylic, sometimes pastel and pencil… I use monochrome shades to produce a dramatic effect and to accentuate my serious purpose, even as I enjoy and have an aptitude for mixing colours.
I do not follow artistic trends of the day and do not work to meet viewers’ expectations. It is up to them to find their own resonance, their own meaning and pleasure. Above all, my ideas respond to an inner need, independent of fashions.
The artwork, like all that is vital, must be able to evolve.
